SSC CGL 2018 Notification (Released), Dates, Pattern, Syllabus



Staff Selection Commission has released exam dates for CGL 2018. Tier 1 will be conducted from June 4 to June 19, 2019. Candidates can apply online from first week of March 2019 (Tentative).  The notification related to SSC CGL 2019 is expected to be released in last week of December.


About SSC CGL Exam
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam for recruitment to various subordinate services like:

  • Assistants in Ministries/Departments, Attached and the Subordinate office of the Govt. of India.
  • Inspectors of Central Excise & Customs.
  • Inspectors of Income Tax.
  • Preventive Officers in Customs.
  • Examiner in Customs.
  • Sub-Inspectors in Central Bureau of Narcotics & CBI.
  • Assistant Enforcement Officer in Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue.
  • Divisional Accountant, Jr. Accountant, Auditor & UDCs in various offices of Govt. of India.
  • Auditor Offices under C&AG, CGDA, CGA & others.
  • Accountant/ Junior Accountant
  • Tax Assistant in CBDT and CBEC
  • Compiler in Registrar General of India


SSC CGL 2018 Exam Dates Released
·         Finally, SSC has published the SSC Calendar & revised schedule of all SSC exams to be conducted by SSC during 2019-2020. SSC has released Exam Dates for SSC CGL 2018 Tier I, II & III Exams which are mentioned below. According to the latest exam calendar of SSC, the Combined Graduate Level Examination – 2018 Tier-I (CBE) exam is scheduled from 04.06.2019 to 19.06.2019.

Eligibility for SSC-CGL

I] Nationality/ Citizenship
A candidate must be either
·         An Indian citizen OR
·         Nepalese/Bhutanese subject OR
·         A refugee from Tibetan who came to India before the 1st January, 1962 OR
·         A person of Indian origin who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam
II]Age
The Staff Selection Commission sets age eligibility differently for every post. The detailed age cutoff is as mentioned in the notification elaborately
Age limit will be reckoned as on 1st August, 2018 based on the following specifications:
(i) For Post with age limit 20-27 years
Candidate must have been born between 2nd August 1991 and 1st August 1998
(ii) For Post with age limit 18-27 years
Candidate must have been born between 2nd August 1991 and 1st August 2000
(iii) For Post with age limit 20-30 years
Candidate must have been born between 2nd August 1988 and 1st August 1998
(iv) For Post with age limit 18-30 years
Candidate must have been born between 2nd August 1988 and 1st August 2000
(v) For Post with age limit 18-32 years
Candidate must have been born between 2nd August 1986 and 1st August 2000

SSC CGL Application 2018

The SSC CGL Applications for 2018 were closed on 5th June 2018.

How to Apply for SSC CGL Exam?

1.       Applicant must first log on to the official website i.e. ssc.nic.in
2.       Before applying carefully check eligibility norms to ensure you are eligible for the post being applied to.
3.       Next step is to “register as a new user” at the website. This can be done using a valid email ID and phone number.
4.       OTP to validate the required ID will be sent to the phone number entered.
5.       Candidate can then pay the application fee online or through an SBI Challan.
6.       The Challan can be generated online after the SSC CGL Application Form.
7.       Make sure to keep scanned copies of a recent passport size photo, candidate signature and thumb impression to upload during the application.
8.       Once you have done basic registration, you will be directed to Application Form.
9.       Carefully fill details into the form and submit.
10.   After clicking the Submit button, you will not be able to make any changes later.
11.   Take a print out of the filled out application form for future reference.
